Podcasting and On-Demand Programming
Produce short and medium form podcasts from station content and from civic organizations to create a new revenue stream for WTMD. WTMD, at the time of departure, was becoming a community podcast/social media production facility.
Civic organizations, and the content presented, had to meet station editorial guidelines in order for the station to cobrand with the organization. The station also promoted podcast series through social media either directly or indirectly as negotiated. WTMD had options to insert sponsorship messages as part of price negotiations.
WTMD, under Stephen Yasko’s leadership, has produced two outside podcasts, including townhalls and recorded audio for Congressman John Sarbanes. Internal podcasting and on-demand audio became a regular production process for the station, particularly on-demand concert videos.
